Equipment Sales

Magwerks has over 30 different standard models of wet horizontal MPI machines and each different model has an average of 42 different options, making the number of possible combinations a fantastic large number to choose from.

If we know what your actual needs are, we can tailor a system to your present and future needs. Magwerks has included an easy to fill out application form on this page, which will provide us with the necessary data to make a meaningful equipment-to-part match.

If you require a custom built system this data must be provided to us in order for us to provide a quotation. Custom systems may also require part samples and if custom fixturing is required, part drawings will most likely be necessary.

After we receive the completed application, a sales technician will contact you for any clarification which might be necessary. The Magnetic Particle Application Data Sheet is provided to you in PDF form and requires Acrobat Reader to view. You can either fax the application to 317-241-8015, or electronically submit the pdf by using the submit button on the 2nd page.

PART PROCEDURE DEVELOPMENT (PPD)

Of all the NDI (Nondestructive Inspection) methods, magnetic particle inspection is one of the most frequently misused processes. Current density and magnetic field orientation are the main variables in the magnetic particle inspection process, however there are many other variables which can also affect the results. Rules of thumb and complicated formulas tend to provide an assurance that usually does not exist and in order to overcome this problem Magwerks uses QQI’s (Quantative Quality Indicators) applied to the actual component parts to develop a method by which a subsurface, artificial discontinuity, of a known size may be visually seen.

This technique will contain the elements summarized below:

  • Part preparation required before testing
  • The type of magnetizing equipment to be used
  • The magnetizing waveform required
  • Any special fixturing which might be required to achieve current density for all necessary magnetizing vectors.
  • Type of magnetic particles and suspension
  • Written Accept/Reject Criteria - (Should be supplied by the customer)
  • Post cleaning procedure if necessary
  • All formalized on a written inspection tehnique

Magwerks will use an appropriate digital magnetometer to quantify the required magnetizing density in each area where the QQI is applied so that the customer may correlate this numerical value with his specific instrumentation type.

To receive a quotation for developing a part procedure for your company, please fill our Magnetic Particle Application data sheet and include a brief description of your inspection current requirements.

Once completed, you may either fax it to us at 317-241-8015 or use the electronic submit button on the 2nd page of the document.
